What Scripture reveals about God is not distant information. The Father’s sending, the Son’s saving work, and the Spirit’s indwelling answer our deepest need and bring us into the life for which humanity was created. Who God is shapes what salvation is—and who we become in Christ.
The Father did not send the Son because He lacked love or needed to be persuaded to save us. Sending the Son is the display of the Father’s own love. He gave the One He eternally loved because He wanted to rescue us and bring us near.
;The eternal Son willingly became truly human. He lived among us as a real person, bore our sin, died, and rose again to open the way to the Father. Salvation is more than reaching heaven; it is being rescued by Jesus and brought to God Himself.
; ;The Holy Spirit dwells in believers and assures us that we truly belong to God. He teaches our hearts to cry, ‘Abba, Father.’ Abba is the family word Jesus Himself used when speaking to the Father. It expresses real closeness, trust, and belonging—not a casual or childish nickname. Scripture can also speak of ‘the love of the Spirit,’ so His work is not that of an impersonal force standing outside God’s love. We are not only pardoned; we are welcomed as God’s sons and daughters.
; ;Jesus describes eternal life as knowing the Father and Jesus Christ whom He sent. Jesus is not a theological detail we can safely overlook. To miss the Son is to miss the One who reveals the Father, gives eternal life, and is the way by which we come to God.
; ;Human beings were created to reflect God’s character and faithfully care for His world under His rule. In Christ, that calling is restored. Joined to the true King and filled with His Spirit, believers become God’s temple and a royal priesthood: a people who live in His presence, represent Him in the world, serve others in love, and make His goodness known. We do not replace Jesus or share His unique saving work; we belong to Him and participate in the mission of the risen Priest-King.
; ; ;The Father loved us and sent His Son. Jesus Christ, the Son, loved us and willingly came. The Holy Spirit makes us alive, pours God’s love into our hearts, joins us to Christ, and brings us home to the Father. The one God saves us in perfect, undivided love.
