The Father loved the Son eternally
The Father–Son relationship did not begin when Jesus was born. Jesus places the Father’s love for Him before the foundation of the world.

Unity does not erase relationship.
Within the life and mission of Jesus, Scripture reveals a real relationship between the Father and the Son. The Father loves and sends His Son; the Son loves the Father, willingly obeys Him, reveals Him, and returns to Him. Their unity never erases who each is.
The Son came from the Father
Jesus describes a complete movement: coming forth from the Father, entering the world, leaving the world, and returning to the Father. His mission in history reveals a relationship that precedes it.
; ;The Son truly reveals the Father
To see Jesus is to see the Father made known. The surrounding passage does not collapse Jesus into the Father: Jesus speaks of being in the Father and the Father being in Him. Read with the passages calling the Son God’s image and exact representation, the natural conclusion is that the Son perfectly reveals the Father while remaining personally related to Him.
; ;Jesus’ prayers are genuine
The Son truly became human and lived a fully human life, so His prayers are real—not a conversation put on for others to hear. The Son truly speaks to the Father, even when He speaks about the glory and love they shared before the world existed.
; ;Our salvation reveals love in action: the Father truly sent His beloved Son, and the Son truly and willingly came for us. They are distinct, yet never divided in the work of saving us.
