The eternal Son entered our humanity to bring us home.
The Son did not merely appear to be human. Without ceasing to be who He eternally is, He truly became one of us. He entered the condition sin had ruined, lived the faithful human life we failed to live, gave Himself for sinners, and rose as the beginning of restored humanity.

The Word truly became flesh
The eternal Word did not merely appear human or temporarily operate a human body. He became flesh and lived among us as Jesus Christ. He knew hunger, weariness, sorrow, temptation, suffering, and death, yet remained without sin. The historic Christian summary—Jesus Christ is fully divine and fully human, one person, the eternal Son—is later theological language intended to preserve all of these biblical claims without denying either His divine identity or His genuine humanity.

Humanity turned from its Creator
Humanity was made to know God, reflect His character, and rule creation under His authority. Instead, all of us have turned toward self-rule. Romans does not divide the world into people who need rescue and people who do not. All are under sin, fall short of God’s glory, and cannot make themselves righteous before Him by their own effort.

Jesus lived the faithful human life
Where Adam disobeyed, Israel failed, and every other person has sinned, Jesus trusted and obeyed the Father completely. He announced God’s kingdom, welcomed sinners, confronted evil, healed the broken, revealed the Father, and loved to the end. He is not only God visiting humanity; He is the true and faithful man humanity was meant to be.

The true King came as a servant
Jesus is the promised Son of David and rightful King, yet His kingdom is revealed through self-giving love. He came not to be served but to serve. He bore the curse of sin, defeated evil without becoming evil, and exercised His authority by laying down His life for His people.

The true Priest offered Himself
Sin brings guilt, corruption, separation, and death. Jesus did not stand at a distance from that need. As the faithful High Priest, He represented us before God and became the once-for-all sacrifice that cleanses sinners and opens the way into God’s presence. The Father did not force an unwilling Son; the Father sent in love, and the Son willingly gave Himself in that same divine love.

The risen Jesus begins a new humanity
God raised Jesus bodily from the dead. His resurrection is not only proof that He lives; it is the beginning of the new creation. Everyone joined to Christ receives forgiveness now, the life of His Spirit, and the sure hope of bodily resurrection when He returns.

The Son became what He had not been—truly human—without ceasing to be who He eternally is. He entered our ruined condition, bore our sin, defeated death, and rose to restore humanity to life with God.
