The Spirit is Someone—not just something received.
The risen Son did not leave His people alone. The Father sends the Holy Spirit through the Son to dwell in believers and continue God’s work among them. The Spirit is not a created force or impersonal energy; He is fully God and acts personally as He gives life, joins us to Christ, and brings us to the Father.
The Spirit acts personally
He speaks and calls people to ministry, distributes gifts as He wills, teaches, reminds, testifies, leads, and can be grieved. These are not descriptions of an impersonal power.

The Spirit searches the depths of God and knows God as a person’s own spirit knows that person. He is not an outside observer or created messenger.
The Spirit brings us into life with God
The Father sends the Spirit of His Son into our hearts. The Spirit unites us to Christ and brings us through the Son to the Father.
; ;The Holy Spirit is more than power we receive. He is God dwelling with us, joining us to Jesus Christ, and teaching us to know God with the trust and belonging of beloved children—the meaning carried by the words ‘Abba, Father.’
